A Deep Thank You to Zoë Royer
After years of dedicated service and visionary leadership, our Chairperson, Zoë Royer, will be stepping down from her role to serve as the newly elected Member of Parliament for Port Moody. While we will miss her presence on our Board, we couldn’t be more proud to see her bring her values, commitment to community, and heart for equity to this next chapter in public service.
Zoë has been a powerhouse advocate for local youth, community causes, and small business owners. Her influence has been felt across our organization—from helping refine our governance, to challenging us to be bold and inclusive in everything we do. As a champion of the arts, education, sustainable development, and meaningful public policy, Zoë has set an example of leadership grounded in compassion, collaboration, and community-building. Her departure leaves big shoes to fill, and we are endlessly thankful for her time, energy, and deep belief in our mission.
Zoë, your legacy here is lasting. Thank you for your heart, your voice, and the light you brought to this journey with us. We wish you every success as you continue to serve your community in Parliament with the same integrity and warmth you shared with us.
Welcoming Dave Sands as Interim Board Member
Stepping into this important leadership role is someone who brings deep experience, strategic insight, and a powerful lens into education: Dave Sands. Dave currently serves as the District Principal of Technology Implementation for School District 43 (Coquitlam, BC) and has over three decades of experience in the K-12 system.
A leader in educational technology and STEAM innovation, Dave’s contributions to the evolving learning landscape have made a meaningful impact on how thousands of students engage with real-world learning. With his role expanding into Coquitlam Continuing Education, Dave brings a well-rounded understanding of both traditional and alternative education pathways—making him an invaluable addition to our team as we support youth across diverse learning environments.
His thoughtful leadership and collaborative mindset will help ensure that as we expand our reach, we continue to understand and support the needs of educators and school districts as critical partners in student success.
