Some people write cheques. Others write change.

Travis McLaren, a Certified Home Inspector and owner of Buyer’s Choice Home Inspections based in BC, is using his everyday work to create extraordinary impact. With every home inspection he completes, Travis is pledging to donate $5 to Build a Biz Kids—a gesture that, over time, is helping hundreds of kids across Canada gain access to future-ready education.

This kind of ongoing support is more than a donation. It’s a statement. It shows that anyone, in any industry, can build giving into their business model and become part of something bigger.

From Travis:
“I wanted to support a cause that was preparing kids for life. What Build a Biz Kids is doing—teaching confidence, resilience, and real-world skills—felt like something I wanted to be part of, not just once, but every day.”

Through this simple, consistent act of giving, Travis is helping fund hands-on programs in entrepreneurship, digital literacy, and financial literacy for youth who may not otherwise have access. Each $5 contribution adds up to something powerful: kids discovering their potential, building confidence, and developing the skills they need to thrive.

Why Purpose-Driven Businesses Win

Today’s customers are more conscious than ever about where their money goes. They don’t just want products and services—they want to support businesses that reflect their values. When everything else is equal, it’s often the why behind a business that becomes the deciding factor for where people spend their hard-earned dollars.

By choosing to embed purpose into his work, Travis is sending a clear message: he cares about his community, about kids, and about building a better future. And that resonates.
